Hot Toys is taking one of the more visually distinctive enemy designs from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor into the 1/6 scale arena. The newly announced Jetpack Trooper is a 30 cm-tall Video Game Masterpiece release with a substantial flight rig, translucent exhaust effects, weathered white armor, and a limited production run of just 2,000 pieces.

That combination makes the figure notable beyond its Imperial subject matter. Hot Toys has produced plenty of Stormtrooper variants over the years, but the Jetpack Trooper offers a much stronger silhouette than a standard infantry release. The oversized jetpack, chest-mounted breathing equipment, and dangling tubing give it an armored aviation profile that should stand out immediately in a display of conventional troopers.

A Specialized Imperial Design in 1/6 Scale

Based on the enemy encountered in Jedi: Survivor, the Jetpack Trooper represents one of the Empire’s more mobile combat units. In the game, these soldiers use short-range booster packs to attack from elevated positions and reposition quickly, creating a visual identity that is considerably more specialized than the usual white-armored rank and file.

Hot Toys lists the figure at approximately 30 cm tall with 30 points of articulation. The armor is presented with applied weathering effects rather than a pristine factory finish, and the official images show a trooper whose white plating has been given the worn, operational appearance associated with the game’s Imperial forces.

The newly crafted helmeted head is the centerpiece of the sculpted work. Because the character is fully masked, the quality of the helmet geometry, surface treatment, and paint application will carry most of the figure’s likeness. The design is familiar enough to read as part of the broader Stormtrooper lineage, while the flight equipment and chest apparatus provide the game-specific details collectors will be looking for.

Jetpack Effects Add the Display Value

The most important accessory is, naturally, the jetpack itself. It attaches magnetically to the figure’s back and is supplied with a pair of translucent exhaust flame effects. Those effects should allow collectors to display the trooper either in a grounded combat stance or in a more overtly airborne pose, depending on how aggressively they want to use the included stand.

Magnetic attachment is a practical choice for a figure like this. The jetpack is visually essential but also adds considerable bulk to the upper body, so the ability to remove it should make storage, handling, and alternate display arrangements easier. It also gives collectors the option of displaying the armor without the flight rig, although the figure’s strongest shelf presence will almost certainly come from using the complete configuration.

The set includes two pairs of interchangeable tubes. One pair can connect to the chest-mounted breathing device, while the other can be attached to the jetpack. These are small details, but they help sell the impression that the trooper is wearing an integrated life-support and propulsion system rather than simply carrying a backpack.

A Focused Accessory Loadout

Hot Toys is keeping the weapons selection relatively disciplined. The Jetpack Trooper comes with an E-11 blaster rifle, along with seven interchangeable gloved hands: fists, relaxed hands, blaster-holding hands, and an opened left hand for gestural posing.

That is not an especially expansive loadout by Hot Toys standards, but it is appropriate for the character. The jetpack, flame effects, tubing, and thermal detonator are more important to this particular release than a large collection of alternate weapons. The thermal detonator attaches magnetically to the utility belt, adding another piece of equipment to the trooper’s combat configuration without requiring a separate loose-part display solution.

The figure also includes a specially designed stand with the Star Wars logo and character nameplate. No dynamic flight stand is specifically identified in the announcement, so collectors should view the base primarily as a support and presentation accessory rather than assume it will replicate an elaborate aerial-flight display system.

Articulation Versus Armor Bulk

The listed 30 points of articulation suggest that the underlying body should provide the familiar range expected from a modern Hot Toys release. However, the practical posing range will depend heavily on how the armor, utility belt, chest device, tubes, and jetpack interact with the body.

This is an area where expectations should remain realistic. Armored troopers can offer excellent articulation at the joints while still being limited in the poses that look natural once the costume is fully assembled. The jetpack may restrict the shoulders and upper torso, while the belt and armored boots could affect deep crouches or wide-legged stances.

That said, the character does not need extreme acrobatics to look effective. A forward-leaning firing pose, a braced landing stance, or a slightly elevated display with the flame effects attached should communicate the Jetpack Trooper’s battlefield role without forcing the figure into awkward positions.

How It Fits Into the Jedi: Survivor Collection

The release gives Hot Toys’ Jedi: Survivor lineup another Imperial presence following earlier game-based trooper offerings. It also continues the company’s interest in revisiting familiar Star Wars military designs through specialized variants, much as previous Hot Toys releases have used jetpacks, alternate armor configurations, and weathering to differentiate otherwise related troopers.

There is also an interesting scale comparison with Hasbro’s 3.75-inch Vintage Collection Jetpack Trooper from the same game. That smaller figure established the character in a more army-building-friendly format, while the Hot Toys version is aimed squarely at collectors who want the armor’s mechanical detailing and weathered finish presented at a much larger scale.

The design also invites comparisons with Hot Toys’ earlier First Order Jet Trooper from The Rise of Skywalker. Both figures use the jetpack concept to create a more dynamic trooper silhouette, but the Jedi: Survivor version leans into a more heavily worn Imperial aesthetic and includes the prominent chest breathing apparatus and interchangeable tubing.

Limited Production Makes the Decision More Immediate

The Jetpack Trooper is a Hot Toys Exclusive limited to 2,000 units in selected markets. That is a considerably smaller production figure than many standard retail releases, and it positions this character as a more specialized purchase for collectors already invested in Hot Toys’ Star Wars offerings.

As of August 27, 2026, the announcement does not provide an MSRP, confirmed retailer list, or active preorder details. The stated release window is approximately the third to fourth quarters of 2026. Collectors interested in the release will need to watch for regional preorder information, particularly because the selected-market availability may make access less straightforward than a conventional global release.

The limited edition also makes this a more compelling option for completionists building a dedicated Jedi: Survivor shelf. It is less essential for collectors who only want the franchise’s principal characters, especially while Cal Kestis and other major heroes remain the more obvious gaps in a character-focused display. For Imperial and trooper collectors, however, the Jetpack Trooper offers a distinctive visual counterpoint to standard Stormtroopers and Scout Troopers.

Collector verdict: Hot Toys’ Jetpack Trooper looks like a strong specialist release built around silhouette, mechanical detailing, and display presence rather than a large accessory count. It should appeal most to dedicated Star Wars video game collectors, Imperial army builders, and 1/6 scale enthusiasts who want a trooper that brings something genuinely different to the shelf. The main questions still waiting for answers are price, final engineering, and how effectively the armor and jetpack balance poseability once the production figure arrives.
