Neverness to Everness is getting its next major content drop on August 19, as Perfect World Games and Hotta Studio prepare to launch version 1.3, “Rising from the Moonlight Fog.” The update brings a new story episode, additional characters, fresh vehicles, a new property, limited-time boards, summer activities, and a substantial collection of quality-of-life improvements.

For a free-to-play urban open-world RPG, version 1.3 is notable less for a single headline feature than for how broadly it expands the game’s day-to-day routine. Players will have new reasons to explore Hethereau, customize their characters and properties, participate in multiplayer activities, and spend City Stamina across a wider range of systems.

A new episode, location, and roster additions

“Rising from the Moonlight Fog” adds a new episode, a new location, and a new Location Anomaly. The supplied update overview does not reveal the full story setup, but the combination suggests that version 1.3 is designed to push the supernatural side of Neverness to Everness forward while giving players another area to investigate.

The update also introduces new characters, with Zankou, Nanally, Linko, and Hotori receiving prominent banner and customization support. Limited boards are scheduled in two phases: “Alluring Shadows” featuring Zankou and “The Ichi-Daime” featuring Nanally will run from August 19 through September 9. From September 9 through September 30, players can access “Surfing All Channels!” for Linko and “Misty Tipsy Style” for Hotori.

All limited boards share the same S-class character pity counter, Points Gift progress, and Board Modification progress. Skin Perks progress remains separate for each board, although it carries over between boards with the same name. That structure should make switching between featured characters less punishing for players who have already invested in the system.

Summer content gives Hethereau a seasonal makeover

Version 1.3 leans heavily into a summer theme, with new activities built around beaches, racing, survival challenges, and casual social play. “Volley Star” runs from August 19 to September 30, while “Surf Breaker” sends players racing under the summer sun. “Shipwreck Salvage,” which begins on August 28, focuses on collecting bottles, and “Runaway Echoes” introduces a last-player-standing challenge from September 9.

Players can also take part in “Breezy Tour,” “Brick by Brick,” and “Gauntlet of Valor.” The latter sits alongside new Hunter’s Crucible challenge stages for Mammon and Morphix, as well as a new Steel Tempered title reward with visual effects that upgrade as event points accumulate.

The update’s smaller activities include “Volley Star,” “Surf Breaker,” “Shipwreck Salvage,” and several other mini-games designed to break up the regular combat and exploration loop. This variety could be one of the patch’s biggest strengths. Neverness to Everness is built around a modern city rather than a traditional fantasy continent, so diversions that make the setting feel lived-in are especially important to its identity.

New outfits, vehicles, and a place to call home

Customization receives a major boost through new outfits for Zankou and Linko, alongside a batch of summer swimsuits. Zankou gets “Red Nightshade,” “Twilight Noir,” “Autumn Vignette,” “Moonlit Courtyard,” and “Searing Lavender,” while Linko receives “Faded Spring,” “Surfing Among Stars,” and “Couch Potato.” Some outfits are sold through the Mall, while others are tied to character bonds, Skin Perks progress, or obtaining the relevant character.

Summer-themed outfits are also available for Esper Zero, Mint, Nanally, and Chaos through Mystery Boxes or the Mall. The update’s cosmetic structure mixes direct acquisition with progression-based rewards, giving players several routes to expand their wardrobes.

Players can purchase the new Stillmeadow House property with Fons, adding another layer to the city-management and customization side of the game. Crops grown there can be sold for Fons by spending City Stamina, creating a new connection between property ownership and the broader economy.

Three vehicles are also being added: Tide, available from Mystery Boxes, and Sirocco and Yesteryear, which can be purchased with Fons. New race courses and team challenges should give those vehicles more practical value than simply serving as transportation around the city.

Quality-of-life changes target everyday friction

Several of version 1.3’s most useful changes are aimed at making regular play more convenient. A new Random Outfits feature can automatically select a wardrobe item whenever players log in or change scenes, with outfits adapting to the current location and activity. Nanally’s “The Popular Kid” outfit is also gaining an optional glasses accessory.

Bagel SNS is receiving a dedicated Furniture & Decor category, making it easier to browse property-related content. Players will also see a confirmation prompt when gifting “A Handwritten Letter,” reducing the risk of sending it to the wrong character.

Multiplayer exploration is getting a “Shadow Sweep” tracking feature to help friends group up in the open world. A one-tap option will hide the main-screen user interface, while “Pink Paws Heist” is gaining a minimap. These are modest additions, but they address the kind of interface and navigation issues that can become increasingly noticeable in an open-world game.

The City Tycoon level 16 perk is being improved, increasing City Stamina consumption speed from 100 percent to 200 percent. However, “Shadow-n-Seek” will begin costing City Stamina after the update, so the broader economy will require some attention from players managing their daily resources.

Events, rewards, and the road to version 1.4

Version 1.3 includes several double-reward campaigns. Players can earn additional rewards from selected Hethereau Hobbies activities, receive double Fons from “Pink Paws Heist,” and increase returns from activities that consume Character Pixels. “Gold Clash,” “Pixel Surge,” “Fons Rush,” and “Stamina Recharge” are scheduled across late August and September.

Perfect World Games has also listed three redeem codes—FOGDENGAME, EYEOFDELUSION, and SUMMERTIME—each valid through August 10. Players should use them before that date if they have not already done so.

Permanent additions include new scratchers for “Mews Flash” and the “Going, Going, Gone!” and “Shadow-n-Seek” activities. The update also adjusts how the Tycoon Incentive Fund works, with certain rewards and passive income sources now drawing from the same allowance previously associated with the “Pink Paws Heist” reward pool.

The immediate future is already mapped out: Pukaland is scheduled to open in version 1.4, alongside new activities and another group of Anomaly Commissions across the city. That roadmap indicates Hotta Studio is continuing to build Neverness to Everness as a live-service game where urban exploration, character collection, combat challenges, and side activities are intended to develop together.

Version 1.3 launches August 19 for Neverness to Everness on PlayStation 5, PC through the game’s client, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, as well as iOS and Android. With its combination of story content, summer diversions, new mobility options, and interface improvements, “Rising from the Moonlight Fog” looks set to be one of the game’s broadest updates yet.
