Lionsgate is bringing Rob Zombie’s Firefly Trilogy to 4K Ultra HD in an eight-disc collector’s edition arriving October 13, 2026. The set collects House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, and 3 From Hell alongside a substantial selection of legacy bonus material and physical collectibles, making it one of the more notable horror home-video packages on the calendar.

The headline upgrade is House of 1000 Corpses making its 4K Ultra HD debut. For collectors who have held onto earlier DVD, Blu-ray, SteelBook, and anniversary editions while waiting for a definitive upgrade, that alone gives this release a strong place in the upgrade conversation. The Firefly films have been repackaged several times over the years, but this is the first North American set to unite the trilogy with the first film presented in 4K.

A Firefly Family Showcase in 4K

Zombie’s trilogy remains an unusual piece of modern horror cinema. House of 1000 Corpses is a neon-soaked, aggressively edited descent into the Firefly family’s roadside nightmare, while The Devil’s Rejects shifts toward a grimier outlaw-thriller structure. 3 From Hell revisits the surviving members of the family and pushes the series into another chapter of brutality, revenge, and exploitation-style excess.

That tonal shift across the three films should make the collection particularly appealing to physical-media collectors who enjoy seeing a filmmaker’s visual and storytelling evolution. The first film’s saturated colors, grotesque production design, and music-video energy are very different from the sun-bleached violence of The Devil’s Rejects or the more digitally polished look of 3 From Hell.

Previous high-definition reviews of the trilogy have generally noted strong audio presentations and image quality that holds up well across the older films, while also pointing out that House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects were obvious candidates for eventual 4K upgrades. The new set directly addresses the most significant gap in the lineup by giving House its first Ultra HD presentation.

Eight Discs and a Heavy Bonus Package

The collection includes the three films, two bonus discs, Blu-ray editions, and digital copies. According to the announced contents, The Devil’s Rejects receives its unrated presentation on Blu-ray, while the 4K disc carries the rated version. 3 From Hell is also included in its unrated form, an important detail for collectors who prioritize having the most complete versions of the films.

The extras are centered around the production history of the trilogy. House of 1000 Corpses includes a feature-length audio commentary from writer-director Rob Zombie, along with behind-the-scenes footage and additional legacy material. The Devil’s Rejects contributes the feature-length documentary 30 Days in Hell: The Making of The Devil’s Rejects, as well as further commentary and production footage.

3 From Hell includes To Hell and Back: The Making of 3 from Hell, presented as a four-part documentary, plus a Rob Zombie audio commentary. For longtime fans, the documentaries may be just as valuable as the resolution upgrades. Zombie’s productions have always carried a strong handmade, chaotic identity, and behind-the-scenes material offers a closer look at how that visual language was created.

Physical Extras Designed for the Shelf

Lionsgate is also giving the package a more substantial collector’s angle with a collectible poster, art cards, a photography book curated by Rob Zombie, and artwork associated with Vance Kelly. The inclusion of a photo book is especially appropriate for this franchise, which has always leaned heavily on distinctive makeup, costumes, sets, props, and character imagery.

Vance Kelly’s artwork has already been used for previous Firefly Trilogy SteelBook releases, so returning to that visual identity gives the new collection some continuity with earlier premium editions. It also helps the box fit naturally into a horror shelf alongside SteelBooks, boutique label releases, soundtrack editions, and other art-forward physical-media packages.

From a display perspective, the poster and art cards make the set more than a simple disc upgrade. Collectors who already own the films individually may not need another standard release, but the combination of new packaging, the photography book, and the first 4K edition of House of 1000 Corpses gives the set a stronger reason to exist than a basic triple-feature reissue.

Who Should Consider the Upgrade?

The most obvious audience is the dedicated Rob Zombie collector who has been waiting for the trilogy to receive a unified Ultra HD release. It is also a natural fit for horror collectors building shelves around grindhouse cinema, modern cult films, or director-focused editions.

Existing owners will need to weigh the set’s contents carefully. The 4K upgrade for House of 1000 Corpses is the key attraction, but collectors who already own recent Blu-ray or 4K editions of the other two films may find portions of the package familiar. The unrated Blu-ray presentation of The Devil’s Rejects is also worth noting for buyers hoping every version would be included in 4K.

Reported retail information has placed the set at an $79.99 suggested price, although collectors should confirm the final listing and retailer pricing before ordering. At that level, the value will depend heavily on how much importance a buyer places on the physical extras and the new House of 1000 Corpses transfer.

Collector verdict: This is best positioned as a premium upgrade for Rob Zombie completists and horror collectors who value packaging, archival extras, and physical media. Casual viewers may be satisfied with existing streaming or Blu-ray options, but fans of the Firefly family now have a substantially more complete shelf centerpiece to consider.
