The final Tokyo night of Hatsune Miku “Magical Mirai 2026” is coming home with fans. A Blu-ray and DVD containing the complete August 30 evening concert at Makuhari Messe will be released in Japan on February 3, 2027, giving virtual singer fans a chance to revisit the event’s 14th edition.

Produced by TOKYO MX and Crypton Future Media Inc., and distributed by FlyingDog Inc., the release will be available in limited-edition Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and limited-edition DVD formats. Both standard and limited editions include the full Tokyo night performance, while the limited versions add a bonus disc packed with extra live footage and behind-the-scenes material.

This year’s event used the theme “Sonare of the Lake” and expanded to three venues. It opened at Act City Hamamatsu from July 24 to 26, marking the first time Magical Mirai was held in Hamamatsu, before moving to INTEX Osaka from August 14 to 16 and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo from August 28 to 30.

A wide-ranging Tokyo setlist

The final Tokyo night concert brought together Hatsune Miku and Crypton Future Media’s other virtual singers: Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO, and KAITO. The performance drew from several eras and corners of the Vocaloid music scene, pairing established favorites with newer event selections.

The 27-song program included wowaka’s “Unhappy Refrain,” DECO*27’s “The Vampire,” ryo’s “Sekiranun Graffiti,” and livetune’s “Hand in Hand.” Other highlights included “Gehenna” by wotaku, “El Tango Egoista” by nyanyannya, “Tengaku -soukyou-” by Yuuyu, and the 2026 theme song, “Sora ni Menjite” by Tota Kasamura feat. Hatsune Miku.

The show closed with two full-cast numbers: “Hand in Hand,” featuring all six virtual singers, followed by “Answer Me” by imie. That closing selection will be particularly notable for collectors who want a record of the final Tokyo night rather than a compilation assembled from multiple performances.

What comes with the limited edition?

The limited-edition packages are designed as the more substantial collector’s release. Each includes a deluxe case with a translucent finish inspired by “Sonare of the Lake,” along with a special book whose details will be announced later.

The bonus disc adds several layers to the concert recording. “Making-of Footage” offers a behind-the-scenes look at the production, while “Exhibition Digest” captures the event’s creative-focused exhibition. The disc also includes “Magical Mirai 2026 Daily Songs,” featuring live performances of songs that were not part of the Tokyo final night setlist.

Those additional performances include “Kimagure Merci,” “Attakaito,” “Hibikase,” “Vivid,” “HERO,” “Umiyuri Kaiteitan,” and “Kagerou Days.” The limited edition also includes a separate “Focus on Singers” video, which spotlights the virtual singers through performances of songs such as “Gehenna,” “Pheles,” “39music!,” “Sora ni Menjite,” and “Answer Me.” The “Daily Songs” and “Focus on Singers” material supports 5.1-channel audio and Japanese subtitles.

Release formats and pricing

The limited-edition Blu-ray is priced at 10,450 yen, including tax, with catalog number VTZL-274. The standard Blu-ray costs 6,930 yen and carries catalog number VTXL-60. For DVD collectors, the limited edition is priced at 9,350 yen and is listed under catalog number VTZL-275.

Both Blu-ray and DVD versions are region-free. The package artwork features the event’s main visual by wata, whose illustration also represents the “Sonare of the Lake” theme. The event’s theme song, “Sora ni Menjite,” was written and performed by Tota Kasamura feat. Hatsune Miku.

Magical Mirai remains distinctive because it combines a 3DCG concert with an exhibition built around the creative culture surrounding Hatsune Miku. Crypton Future Media’s virtual singer software allows creators to input lyrics and melodies, and the community’s music, artwork, performances, and fan projects have helped turn Miku into a global pop-culture phenomenon.

For longtime fans, the February release offers both a complete record of the Tokyo finale and a broader snapshot of the 2026 event through its bonus footage. The official event site has already announced Magical Mirai 2027, planned for Hiroshima, Osaka, and Tokyo in July and August 2027, so the next chapter is worth keeping an eye on while fans wait for preorder details and the limited edition’s special-book information.
