Ignition Press is bringing three limited-edition comic variants to Rose City Comic Con 2026, giving Portland conventiongoers an early opportunity to pick up special covers for Prima Apparata #1, The Folk of Dooney Hollow #1, and Cult-de-Sac #1. Each edition is capped at 500 copies, and the books will be sold directly from the participating creators’ booths while supplies last.

The exclusives arrive as Ignition Press continues building its line of creator-driven original comics. For readers, the appeal is twofold: the covers offer a collectible connection to the artists involved, while The Folk of Dooney Hollow #1 will make its convention debut ahead of its regular comic-shop release.

Three Ignition Press Variants Head to Portland

Prima Apparata #1 will feature an exclusive cover by series artist Rebekah Isaacs. Copies will be available at Isaacs’ booth, D-03, as well as the booth of co-creator Olivia Dufault, D-09. The series marks a collaboration between Dufault and Isaacs, with the variant giving fans a chance to meet the creative team while adding a limited cover to their collections.

At booth D-10, writer Jeremy Haun will offer the exclusive edition of The Folk of Dooney Hollow #1, featuring a variant cover by Jae Lee. The issue is scheduled to reach comic shops on September 9, making Rose City Comic Con an especially early stop for readers interested in the new horror series.

The third exclusive is Cult-de-Sac #1, with a variant cover by Inaki Miranda. Writer Cullen Bunn will sell copies from booth D-04. The series comes from Bunn and artist Fico Ossio, adding another recognizable creator pairing to Ignition Press’ growing convention lineup.

What Readers Know About the New Books

Specific story details for Prima Apparata and Cult-de-Sac remain limited in the announcement, but both books are positioned as new original series rather than extensions of established Marvel or DC franchises. That makes the Rose City promotion notable for readers who follow creator-owned comics and are looking for fresh worlds outside the traditional superhero universes.

The Folk of Dooney Hollow has received a little more advance attention. Haun has described the story as following a woman writing a dissertation about settlers who disappeared in the 1800s while traveling from the East Coast to the West. The series is planned as a five-issue limited series, with art by Alex Lins and a horror-focused premise built around historical mystery and disappearance.

That early convention availability could help the book stand out in a crowded September release schedule. Readers who pick up the variant at Haun’s booth will have access to the first issue before its standard edition reaches stores, though the exclusive cover itself is limited to the convention stock.

Booth Locations and Limited Quantities

All three Rose City variants are limited to 500 copies. Ignition Press has not indicated that each copy will be available throughout the entire convention, so collectors interested in a particular cover may want to make the creators’ booths an early stop on Friday, September 11.

Rose City Comic Con runs September 11–13, 2026, at Portland’s Oregon Convention Center. The three variant comics are tied specifically to the September 11 launch, with sales handled by the creators rather than through a single centralized Ignition Press booth.

The distribution plan also gives fans more than one opportunity to find the Prima Apparata exclusive, since both Isaacs and Dufault will have copies. The Folk of Dooney Hollow and Cult-de-Sac variants, meanwhile, will be sold from the respective writers’ booths.

Ignition Press Expands Its Convention Presence

Ignition Press is also sponsoring RCCC x ComicsPro Retailer Day, which will take place across September 10 and 11. The publisher is scheduled to present on Thursday and participate in roundtable discussions on Friday, bringing its sales and publishing team into direct contact with comic retailers.

The company’s Daniel Crary is expected to represent Ignition Press during the retailer programming and host a Drink N Draw on Friday evening. Signed copies of all three Rose City variants have been donated as prizes for that event.

For collectors, the combination of creator-sold editions, 500-copy print runs, and convention-only availability gives these books immediate appeal. For readers, the more important development may be Ignition Press’ continued effort to use major shows as launch points for new independent series. With The Folk of Dooney Hollow #1 arriving early and Prima Apparata #1 and Cult-de-Sac #1 already available, Rose City Comic Con offers a concentrated look at three of the publisher’s upcoming creator-owned projects.

As with any convention exclusive, availability will depend on remaining stock. Fans unable to attend Portland will need to watch for any post-convention sales announcements from Ignition Press, but no broader release for the Rose City covers has been confirmed in the announcement.
