Hot Toys Unveils Sam Porter Bridges Figure From Death Stranding 2

Hiya Toys is expanding its Millennium-era Godzilla lineup with a new Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (2000) Godzilla figure, and this release should immediately catch the attention of collectors who have been waiting for more Toho designs in the company’s increasingly broad EXQUISITE BASIC Series. Standing approximately 7 inches tall, the figure offers a screen-inspired sculpt, articulated tail, multiple body joints, and interchangeable hands at a listed U.S. price of $64.99.

The figure is currently available for pre-order, with Hiya Toys listing an expected release window of the third quarter of 2027. That puts the release well into the future, but the announcement is notable because Godzilla vs. Megaguirus remains one of the less frequently represented Millennium films in the modern collector market.

A Distinctive Millennium-Era Godzilla

Godzilla vs. Megaguirus occupies an unusual position in the franchise. Released in 2000, it followed Godzilla 2000: Millennium as another continuity reset while retaining the visual language of the late-1990s Millennium suits. The design is recognizable as the same general era of Godzilla, but it has its own proportions, facial character, dorsal fin treatment, and coloration.

Hiya Toys’ release is presented as a dedicated Godzilla vs. Megaguirus version rather than a simple repaint of its earlier Godzilla 2000 figure. That distinction matters to collectors building a film-by-film Godzilla shelf. Although the two designs share a clear lineage, the Megaguirus suit has a somewhat different on-screen presence, with a more streamlined profile and a particularly striking dorsal fin color scheme.

According to the manufacturer, the figure uses a dark gray-green body with purple-pink gradients across the dorsal fins. That color treatment is one of the most immediately recognizable visual cues from the film and should help separate this release from Hiya’s other Millennium Godzilla figures, especially the more aggressively colored Godzilla 2000 editions.

Sculpt Details and Screen Accuracy

The official product description highlights rugged skin texture, sharply defined facial features, and layered dorsal fins. Those are exactly the areas where a smaller-scale Godzilla figure can either succeed as a movie collectible or look too generic. Hiya has positioned the EXQUISITE BASIC line around detailed sculpts and active posing, so the success of this release will likely depend heavily on how well the final production figure preserves the facial expression and suit-specific proportions shown in the promotional images.

Collectors familiar with the Millennium designs will probably pay particular attention to the head sculpt. Godzilla vs. Megaguirus’ version is not simply a broad, traditional Godzilla interpretation; its identity comes from the combination of a relatively compact head, pronounced facial structure, heavy neck area, and distinctive dorsal plates. The layered fins appear to be a major visual focus of the release, and the purple-pink accents should provide useful contrast against the darker body coloration.

As with any pre-production collectible, the promotional images should be treated as representative rather than final. Hiya Toys specifically notes that product images are for reference and that the finished item may vary. Until production samples or in-hand reviews become available, questions about paint sharpness, joint visibility, and final facial execution remain open.

Articulation and Included Accessories

Hiya Toys lists multiple articulation points throughout the body, along with a multi-jointed tail designed to support more natural movement. The tail is especially important on a Godzilla figure of this size. A well-engineered tail can add considerable personality to the silhouette, allowing the figure to lean into attacking poses, turning stances, or more grounded monster choreography instead of being locked into a straight museum pose.

The articulated body is intended to support dynamic recreations of Godzilla’s battles around Odaiba, including clawing attacks and aggressive forward-driving poses. That should make the figure a natural fit for collectors who display their kaiju in action scenes rather than arranging them only in neutral standing positions.

The accessory count is straightforward: the package includes two sets of interchangeable hands. While that is not an expansive selection compared with higher-priced premium releases, alternate hands are useful on a Godzilla figure because they can change the character’s attitude without requiring additional effect parts. The standard hands should provide a solid default display, while the alternate set appears aimed at more expressive combat posing.

There is currently no confirmed atomic breath effect, display base, damaged head, battle-damaged component, or miniature accessory listed for this release. That limited loadout is worth noting for collectors who prioritize diorama options. The figure’s appeal is centered on the sculpt, articulation, and film-specific deco rather than a large accessory package.

How It Fits the Hiya Toys Godzilla Line

Hiya Toys has steadily built a Godzilla catalog that spans Legendary’s MonsterVerse designs and a growing selection of Toho characters. The EXQUISITE BASIC Series has become particularly interesting for collectors who want articulated film designs without moving into the price range associated with larger premium statues or some import action-figure releases.

The company has already offered several Millennium-era subjects, including Godzilla 2000, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, Kiryu, and other related designs. Adding the Megaguirus version gives collectors another opportunity to assemble a cohesive late-1990s and early-2000s Toho display. It also creates the possibility of pairing the figure with a future Megaguirus release, although Hiya Toys has not announced one as part of this product listing.

Existing coverage comparing Hiya’s earlier Godzilla 2000 figure with S.H.MonsterArts illustrates the basic collecting decision surrounding this new release. Hiya’s offerings generally occupy a space between mass-market vinyl figures and more expensive import collectibles, emphasizing sculpt detail and a broad range of poseability at a comparatively accessible price. S.H.MonsterArts may remain the preferred choice for collectors seeking more premium engineering or a specific interpretation of the suit, but Hiya’s pricing can make it easier to build an entire era-based lineup.

That comparison should not be treated as a final judgment on this unreleased figure. No verified hands-on reviews of the Godzilla vs. Megaguirus release are available at the time of announcement, so production quality, joint tolerances, paint consistency, and actual posing performance will need to be assessed once samples reach reviewers and collectors.

Price, Release Timing, and Collector Appeal

Hiya Toys lists the standard price at $54.99, while the U.S. tariff-included price is listed as $64.99. BigBadToyStore has also listed the figure for pre-order at $64.99. The manufacturer identifies the release window as the third quarter of 2027, making this a long-lead pre-order rather than an imminent arrival.

At that price, the figure looks most appealing to collectors who value accurate character selection and want a dedicated representation of the Megaguirus suit. It is also a logical purchase for fans who skipped earlier versions of Godzilla 2000 but still want a Millennium Godzilla with a similar visual foundation.

The main limitation is the relatively modest accessory package. Collectors expecting a premium diorama piece with effects, alternate heads, or scene-specific extras may find the offering conservative. On the other hand, the 7-inch scale, detailed dorsal fins, articulated tail, and distinctive paint scheme should give it strong shelf presence even without additional parts.

Collector verdict: This is a promising preorder for Toho-focused Godzilla collectors, Millennium-era completists, and fans who prefer articulated figures over static vinyls. Its strongest selling point is the opportunity to add a dedicated Godzilla vs. Megaguirus design to a growing Hiya lineup. The final recommendation will depend on production paint and facial accuracy, but the character selection alone makes this one worth watching.
