Star Trek: Strange New Worlds returns for its fourth season on July 23, 2026, bringing Captain Pike, the Enterprise crew, and another wave of genre-hopping Starfleet adventures back to Paramount+. For collectors, this is more than another television premiere. The series has become one of the most visually distinctive corners of modern Trek, with a strong command of uniforms, alien designs, period-inspired technology, starship detail, and character-driven display appeal.

The ten-episode season is also the penultimate chapter of the series, making every new costume, guest character, creature, and alternate-reality detour potentially significant to collectors. Paramount has confirmed weekly releases through September 24, while the promotional material promises dinosaurs, space westerns, armored knights, terrifying aliens, and a puppet episode created with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

A Season Built for Variety

Paramount’s official synopsis keeps the story deliberately broad. The Enterprise crew will continue exploring strange new worlds while confronting internal conflicts, external threats, familiar faces, and new characters. That description is consistent with the show’s biggest strength: it can move from serious science fiction to romantic drama, horror, comedy, and outright pulp adventure without abandoning its optimistic Starfleet identity.

The trailers offer a more colorful preview. One sequence places the Enterprise inside a stellar storm after a distress call from a buoy, leaving the ship without power and forcing Pike’s team to search for iridium on an unknown world. Other footage teases a dinosaur-filled environment, a desert setting populated by characters in Western attire, and a dragon-like creature attacking the Enterprise.

For collectors, that range is particularly attractive because Strange New Worlds does not rely on a single visual template. A season can deliver new Starfleet uniforms, alien antagonists, civilian costumes, fantasy armor, historical clothing, and unusual creature designs within the same ten-episode run. That makes it difficult to predict which characters or props will become the most desirable merchandise subjects.

The season’s announced episode titles add another layer of mystery: “Valles Marineris,” “The Griffin Incident,” “Human Best Friend,” “A Case of Chiaroscuro,” “Level-Five Transporter Accident,” “Off-Hour,” “Like Chronitons Through the Hourglass,” “Orders of Magnitude,” “Once La’An a Time,” and “Tomorrow’s Enterprise.” Titles such as “Once La’An a Time” and “Tomorrow’s Enterprise” immediately suggest time travel, alternate history, or fantasy elements, although the actual stories remain under wraps.

The Enterprise Crew Remains the Main Event

Anson Mount returns as Captain Christopher Pike, alongside Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Ethan Peck as Spock, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga, and Martin Quinn as Montgomery Scott.

Carol Kane’s Commander Pelia and Paul Wesley’s James T. Kirk are also confirmed to return. That is especially important for collectors building a bridge crew display, since the emerging Pike-era roster now has enough recurring characters to support a more complete Enterprise command lineup rather than a display centered only on Pike and Spock.

The season is also expected to include a new female Vulcan cadet played by Bianca Nugara, while Dan Jeannotte is set to return as Sam Kirk. Reports have additionally pointed to appearances or possible appearances by David Marcus, Sarek, and Doug the Vulcan. Those names should be treated carefully until each appearance is confirmed on screen, but they demonstrate how closely the series is moving toward the established Original Series era.

That transition gives the cast a strong collectibility hook. Pike remains the central figure, but the presence of Kirk, Spock, Sam Kirk, and potentially Sarek creates a bridge between the modern series and the classic 1960s lineup. For collectors, that kind of continuity can make even a relatively small figure assortment feel more cohesive on the shelf.

Season 3’s Storylines Set the Display Context

The previous season left several major character arcs in motion. Captain Marie Batel survived the Gorn-related infection introduced in the second-season finale, but her DNA was permanently altered. Her connection to the Beholder and the Vezda ultimately led to a tragic transformation, with Batel accepting a role guarding the Vezda prison on Vadia IX.

Spock continued dealing with Christine Chapel’s relationship with Dr. Roger Korby, while also entering a complicated relationship with La’An. Uhura began dating Ortegas’ brother, Beto, and Ortegas confronted the trauma left by the Gorn attack. Season 3 also embraced the show’s willingness to experiment, including a story that transformed members of the crew into Vulcans and a pulp mystery centered on La’An and a prototype holodeck.

Those developments matter to collectors because Strange New Worlds figures are not simply uniformed portraits. The series regularly gives its characters alternate costumes, specialized equipment, emotional turning points, and genre-specific versions of themselves. A future La’An figure in medieval armor or a puppet-style Enterprise crew release would not feel out of place beside conventional Starfleet figures.

Where the Merchandise Landscape Stands

There is already a growing modern Star Trek collectibles ecosystem for Strange New Worlds. Master Replicas’ 4.5-inch action-figure program is designed to sit alongside the classic Playmates scale, with digitally sculpted likenesses, articulation, and character accessories. Its current Strange New Worlds offerings include Spock, Captain Pike, and Dr. M’Benga, with accessories such as a phaser, tricorder, communicator, medical tricorder, and hypospray depending on the character.

That scale choice is strategically useful. Rather than asking longtime collectors to rebuild an entire collection around a new format, the line positions itself as an extension of the 1990s Playmates era. A completed Pike-era bridge crew could therefore sit beside classic Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and Uhura figures without looking completely mismatched in scale or presentation.

Starship collectors also have a current option in the Polar Lights 1:1000-scale Strange New Worlds Enterprise light kit. Listed with an MSRP of $119.99 by Auto World Store, the kit is aimed at builders who want a more substantial display piece than a small die-cast replica. Its timing alongside the fourth-season premiere makes it a natural centerpiece for a Strange New Worlds shelf, particularly when displayed with crew figures or a printed bridge backdrop.

Master Replicas is also expanding its Star Trek starship range with compact die-cast vessels and related book-style presentation pieces. Although the available selection is not limited to Strange New Worlds, the approach suits collectors who prefer a curated display of ships rather than a large fleet of similarly scaled models.

At the premium end, EXO-6 has already demonstrated interest in Strange New Worlds characters through larger-scale figures and statues, including Captain Angel. That suggests the series can support more than mass-market action figures, particularly when a character has a distinctive costume or strong visual identity.

Collector Verdict

Season 4 looks especially promising for collectors who enjoy variety over strict uniformity. The standard Enterprise crew remains important, but the real appeal may come from the one-off visuals: dinosaur-world equipment, Western costumes, fantasy armor, puppet recreations, new Vulcan designs, and whatever unusual aliens appear during the season’s weekly run.

For action-figure collectors, the most practical focus is a core Pike-era bridge crew anchored by Pike, Spock, M’Benga, and Kirk. Gunpla and model-kit builders should keep an eye on the Enterprise and any newly introduced ships, while premium collectors may find the season’s guest characters and alternate costumes more compelling than another standard uniform release.

Collector verdict: Strange New Worlds season 4 is best suited to fans who enjoy character displays with strong narrative context. It may not produce a complete merchandise line for every episode, but its visual ambition creates plenty of opportunities for memorable figures, dioramas, starship displays, and custom projects.

With the series approaching its final season, the fourth-season premiere is also a useful reminder that Strange New Worlds has become one of the most collectible modern Trek eras. Whether the next major release is a new crew figure, an alien antagonist, a display-scale Enterprise, or a gloriously strange convention exclusive, the franchise has no shortage of material to work with.
