Hasbro is bringing two of the most requested named clones from Star Wars: The Clone Wars into The Black Series with the Clone Troopers Dogma and Hardcase 2-pack. The Walmart-exclusive set pairs members of the 501st Legion on what appears to be the line’s latest Phase I clone trooper body, giving collectors an official way to add two prominent Torrent Company soldiers to their shelves.

The announcement is notable not simply because Dogma and Hardcase are recognizable Clone Wars characters, but because Hasbro is continuing to fill out the 501st roster with figures that previously existed primarily through custom work, imports, or unofficial alternatives. For collectors building a complete animated-era clone display, this two-pack represents another important step toward a more cohesive official lineup.

A Long-Awaited Pair of 501st Clones

Dogma and Hardcase both served in the 501st Legion, though their personalities and battlefield reputations set them apart. Dogma is defined by his loyalty, discipline, and unwavering belief in the Republic’s military structure. Hardcase, by contrast, is remembered for his impulsive enthusiasm and aggressive approach to combat.

Those contrasting character traits give the set more personality than a simple army-builder release. Their individualized armor markings and portrait details help distinguish them from standard clone troopers, while the shared armor design keeps the pair visually consistent with other recent animated-style releases.

For collectors focused on the Umbara arc, the set also has considerable display value. Dogma and Hardcase can be displayed together as part of a 501st unit, positioned alongside Captain Rex and other named troopers, or incorporated into a larger battlefield scene featuring General Pong Krell’s campaign. The figures’ different markings should make the group feel less uniform without disrupting the overall visual language of a clone display.

Animation-Inspired Sculpting and Deco

Hasbro’s official product description identifies both figures as six-inch-scale releases with premium detailing and multiple points of articulation. Each figure includes a removable helmet, allowing collectors to display the troopers in armored form or expose their character-specific portrait heads.

That helmet feature is particularly important for this release. Named clone troopers are often defined as much by their facial presentation and helmet paint as by their armor, and removable headgear gives the set greater flexibility than a pair of permanently sealed helmets would provide. Product images show Dogma and Hardcase with individualized facial markings that reflect their animated appearances rather than treating them as interchangeable clone bodies.

Early collector discussion has focused on the paint applications, helmet details, and how closely the figures match the established Clone Wars aesthetic. Some community comments have raised questions about color consistency compared with earlier Black Series clone troopers, while others have praised the overall look and welcomed the removable helmets. These are preliminary impressions rather than formal reviews, but they highlight the areas most likely to matter once the figures reach collectors in greater numbers.

Available images suggest that the figures use the newer Phase I clone trooper tooling seen in recent releases. Community observations indicate that the set retains hinged hands rather than the newer ball-jointed hand design seen on some later Hasbro figures. That is not necessarily a major drawback for standard blaster poses, although collectors who prioritize maximum weapon-handling flexibility may view it as a limitation.

Weapons and Display Options

Dogma comes with two blasters, while Hardcase includes a rotary laser cannon. The loadouts are character-appropriate and help separate the pair in a display: Dogma reads as a more traditionally equipped infantry trooper, while Hardcase’s larger weapon gives him a heavier battlefield presence.

The accessory selection is focused rather than expansive. There are no announced alternate hands, additional armor components, or diorama pieces, so the value of the set rests primarily on the two named characters, the removable helmets, and the specialized weapon included for Hardcase.

From a posing standpoint, the rotary laser cannon should give Hardcase a stronger action-oriented silhouette than a standard rifle would. It also provides an immediate visual cue for his role within the squad. Dogma’s pair of blasters, meanwhile, should support straightforward dual-wielding or holstered-weapon displays depending on how the final packaging and sculpt accommodate them.

As with many clone trooper releases, the set’s greatest strength may be its compatibility with existing figures. Collectors can build a compact 501st scene with just a few releases, or expand toward a larger Torrent Company display using Captain Rex, standard 501st troopers, ARC troopers, and other named clones. The shared scale and armor styling should make the pair easy to integrate into an established Black Series collection.

Pricing, Exclusivity, and Preorder Timing

The Walmart product page lists the two-pack at $55.97. That places the set above the cost of two standard single-packed Black Series figures, though the premium is consistent with the pricing structure often applied to exclusive two-packs and character-specific releases.

Preorders are scheduled to open on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time as part of Walmart Collector Con. The set has been reported as a Walmart exclusive in the United States. A separate general retail release date has not been provided in the available product information, so collectors should treat the preorder date as the confirmed ordering opportunity rather than a guaranteed in-hand arrival date.

Exclusive distribution may make this a more complicated purchase than a standard wave figure, particularly for collectors attempting to complete a 501st display rather than casually picking up one or two favorite characters. The set’s appeal is strong enough that dedicated Clone Wars fans will likely be watching the preorder window closely, but there is currently no verified information confirming a sellout or unusual demand.

Collector Verdict

This is an important release for collectors building a named clone roster, especially those who have been waiting for official versions of Dogma and Hardcase instead of relying on custom figures or unofficial alternatives. The character selection is strong, the removable helmets add welcome display flexibility, and Hardcase’s rotary cannon gives the pair a distinct visual balance.

The main question is value. At $55.97, the set is not an impulse-priced army builder, and the accessory count is relatively restrained. Collectors primarily interested in screen-accurate Clone Wars characters will likely find the two-pack worthwhile, while casual Black Series buyers may prefer to prioritize Captain Rex, standard 501st troopers, or other central characters first.

For dedicated fans of the Umbara storyline and 501st Legion displays, however, Dogma and Hardcase are exactly the kind of secondary characters that make a collection feel complete. This is less about introducing another generic clone and more about giving the wider Clone Wars ensemble the depth it has been missing in official six-inch form.

Collector verdict: A highly desirable two-pack for Clone Wars and 501st Legion collectors, with strong character selection and useful display options. The price and Walmart exclusivity are the primary concerns, but the release fills a meaningful gap in the official Black Series lineup.
